Does anyone know Singapore well? Looking for recommendation for a nice dinner with a view at Marina Bay for a birthday. Monti has no availability. Menu at Celavi doesn't grab me. Where else? Not Japanese or too weird food wise if that's an understandable description. Is the Mexican in Customs House just young and noisy? We're neither Smile

Have been a couple of times to Singapore

Metro or taxi to Clarke Quay, walk along & find restaurants next to river

You can also walk from the Merlion fountain, to restaurants that are next to the river

Thanks for the reply. I've been before and we'll definitely walk around there as you say. But I'd like to book somewhere in advance for a special dinner so was hoping someone local might have an idea. I'd like to have a specific plan.

Why not go to the street food market? It makes it more special because it's local - fancy restaurants can be found everywhere.

We're there for 5 nights and will undoubtedly eat in one or two of the hawker centres. But this is for a birthday - a 77th - and we'd like something comfortable. I'm thinking of somewhere with a view so we get that sense of place. But I'm open to suggestions as long as it's seated!
