Croatia - DH and I - Where?

We would fly into Dubrovnik. Not a hotel, preferably an aparmtent complex with self catering and near a beach.
I dotn know any of the resorts/locations to even start looking.
Any suggestions. Ive done a search here and SO many suggestions im bamboozled.

What sort of holiday do you want?

My initial recommendation would be the Elafiti Islands, all three inhabited islands are a short ferry from Dubrovnik but wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. Not too touristy. But if you want to do much more than relax on a beach, eat food, swim in the sea etc. then they wouldn’t be right

Swim in the sea, lounge by the pool, take a boat out for a day, do some sightseeeing. We work long hours and are just at the stage where our girls are sorted and we can head off without a backward glance. Sort of.....

I also think Elafiti islands could work, I stayed on Kolocep and did a day trip on the ferry to Dubrovnik and also took ferries to some other islands. Kolocep has a small Sandy beach and is good if you like to kayak. I took a boat trip that went all the way around the island, no cars are allowed so it’s peaceful. There are some apartments there but it may be tricky to buy all the food you need on the island, I recall locals had lots of shopping bags on the ferry from Dubrovnik.
I am not exaggerating, the sunsets were the most beautiful I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to over 60 countries.
