Has anyone flown silverjet - would you recommend it?

The Times BOGOF makes the cost only a teenie bit more than economy flights with BA or Virgin so we are tempted!

Any feedback would be good as I need to be convinced that schlepping up to Luton will be worth it

do they allow kids on Silverjet given they are quite business oriented?

MABS · 23/03/2008 18:07

yes, kids allowed but no discounts. My sis is flying Silverjet to Dubai next week with a 3yr old, we are flying BA to join her.

We went BA in the end. Got upgraded to prem econ on the way out. Econ seats were very cramped but luckily we are all short arses in our family!

my sis is doing Silverjet next week, eveything crossed!

My parents went recently and would not stop raving about it.

They are fantastic-we went to Dubai with them and both ends were a complete dream.Didn't touch our luggage once between getting out of the car and getting to our room in Dubai.

They have just introduced a 30% discount for children!

Cannot recommend them highly enough for this route but if you do the sums,it seems impossible for them to survive.

They are not as luxurious a Eos but they are much cheaper.

Seats do not go flat but for the money they are great.

MABS · 25/03/2008 19:43

good to hear Whoosh, we are flying BA Club and my sis doing Silverjet.

Last year I flew EOS to NY which was absolutely fabulous and a month later flew BA club to Chicago (on business) which I though in comparison to EOS was very poor. If i had the choice of either BA club or silverjet, I'd fly silverjet as it seems they try and make you feel special whereas you are just one of many to BA and there was nothing special about their service at all.

I flew EOS to NY and it was AMAZING, ruined flying for me for ever more mind you but was worth it.

I have flown to Dubai with them too, it's not that good and they lost my luggage and told me to come and collect it when they fund it! there was only 40 people on board too!

It's not proper business class, by a long stretch of the imagination it is better than economy.

Having said that I have booked again on the 2 for 1 Times offer.

Brilliant thing is I live 15 mins form Luton so left home at 7.45 and was rolling down the runway at 8.50pm. It is worth the extra for not having to go to Heathrow.

I am sitting on the beach in the Seychelles writing this as I have only 2 books left and saving them for the flight home! How's that, wireless on the beach!

Alibubbles - had to laugh all my visitors here in dubai that have flown BA have lost their luggage! And to make matters worse they tell them on the flight. Thank goodness my visitors could share my clothes and we can supply all other toiletries and stuff. £200 in insurance money doesnt go far!

Bit as to how Kate Moss got £20k in compensation for her lost luggage.

Does anyone know if the Times offer is still running with Silverjet? Was a collect coupons thing or a code?
