Taking my 17 year old DD to Paris for a few nights next week. Any tips on good restaurants and things to see/do?

we were too late to get Eiffel Tower tickets so going to try going on the day - any tips for avoiding a huge queue?

thank you!

Just got back from 2 days in Paris with DD14. Her wish list was Eiffel Tower, Mona Lisa and put a padlock on a bridge. We queued for tickets for the Eiffel Tower and I'm so glad we did - it was by far the best bit of this trip and pretty much any city trip I've ever done. We arrived at about 6.30pm and perhaps queued for about 45mins then. We stayed up at the top for probably about an hour, sun was starting to get low and the views were beautiful. Maybe even a bit later could have been lovely for sunset. She also enjoyed the shops on Rue de Rivoli (huge Sephora, Urban Outfitters etc.) We stayed in Canal St Martin and she loved the vibe - sitting by the canal at night, lots of people watching and cool shops and restaurants - it felt like a really safe place to wander around after dark and could be worth a visit for an evening even if you aren't close by. She wasn't excited to got to Montmartre but we enjoyed the view, pottering along cobbled streets and a drink in a cafe on Place du Tertre, plus she'd discovered that the boulangerie in Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir (a French animation she loves) is a real place so we found it and took pictures (other teens and tweens outside doing the same) and bought a superior cake. We also liked the Batobus - used it to get to the Eiffel Tower from the Louvre and also to use up a bit of time on a hot day today. We went everywhere by Metro, which worked well to reduce walking times. Have a fantastic time!
