Cheap beach break

Looking to go away for a cheap beach break with my 15 year old DD - maybe 2 nights. A Sandy beach is a must and it needs to be somewhere we can get to quickly (so maybe 2-3 hrs travel). What destinations should I be looking at? We don't normally do beach holidays hence I don't know

For two nights - ideally under £1000. But can stretch to more

That should be easily doable. We had a jet2holidays package for 4 nights to Menorca last year for about £700 for two of us. Super easy as you've got your flights, transfers and accommodation sorted.

Have a look at the deals section of jet2 holidays and tell it you can go to all the destinations in Spain and Balearics as these are the shortest flights. Be as flexible as you can.

Possibly also look at Malta and maybe city breaks to Alicante and Barcelona. Tweak for Trip Advisor ratings and look for the most appropriate flight times, eg fly out in the morning and you'll be on the beach by early afternoon. If you could get an evening flight back on your last day, you've got 3 days of sunny beach holiday.

Tui might offer something similar from Gatwick, so also worth checking.

Enjoy!

U.K. - Ryde Isle of Wight. Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour 1.5 hours. Cat 20 mins to Ryde. 10 min walk up pier to massive proper sandy beach. Never full with people because it’s huge.

Fly to Barcelona tjen get the train to sitges. It's a hour journey. Great place, lovely beach, easily doable for a short break with a beach, and relatively cheap too

Are you looking at the summer holidays?

If I was flying abroad for a short break I would look at somewhere like Alicante or Malaga / Torremolinos where you are a short taxi ride from the airport - but I am not sure what you would get at that price booking this close - the price of flights tends to go up closer to the time of travel, plus availability of accommodation.

Just put in a quick search for you as an example 3 nights from Stansted on 21 Aug looking at Alicante/Malaga/Costa del Sol and there are a few coming up - nice hotels too (this is Jet2)

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea did you look at jet2 holidays?

Will take another gander
Usually the ones within budget have terrible flight times or are not on the beach

I was just thinking of cities/resorts close to the airport - although cities, both Malaga and Alicante have a beach . Was thinking mainland Spain short flights but cheaper than say Mallorca. I didn't look at flight times - no.

Do you want a hotel right on the beach ? All inclusive ? (The ones I found are room only)

Jet2 flight times are usually pretty good, it's part of their USP.

Although what you regard as good/terrible is a matter of opinion, likewise what you mean by 'on the beach'. If you are limiting yourself to only beachfront properties you will be reducing choice and increasing cost.

If you look at hotels that are a few minutes walk from the beach, you'll have a lot more holidays to choose from.
