Hi
Lucky you!
Having done a few long hauls pre-baby and quite a few flights post baby I would really suggest finding a place baby friendly and opting for that....even if its not long haul.
We only did short flights from the age of 8 months upwards and it got tougher. By 12months she was running up and down the aircraft aisle......we had 2 weeks in Tuscany at 14months and it was hard work. It would have been great if we had a night off or help with the early mornings (i.e thats why I would suggest a baby friendly place). We wouldnt do it again. However our little girl is quite a live wire. If you have a good little tinker then maybe try it?
How about a compromise, maybe a 4-5 hour flight (Sharm el sheik, great for snorkelling, Dubai, great for shopping)? Enjoy where ever you go.
