Advice on Greek islands

We want to go away next year to a Greek island. I've been to several before but more as a 20/30 something with friends or in a couple. This time it'll be me and DH plus 16yr old DS. Celebrating GCSEs and DH 50th. Next July (2024).

We want to avoid the main party resorts but don't want to be in a really small village in the mountains.

We want a small to medium sized hotel for bed and breakfast, close to the beach and safe walking distance to a selection of restaurants so that we can eat out in the evening. Not fussed about evening entertainment.

Any suggestions on islands/resorts?.

Vassiliki on Lefkas? Young crowd and lots of windsurfing but at 50 it worked for me as well as the teenagers.

Skopelos is quite quiet, not over-developed, quite green and hilly. It’s got a range of beaches, some sandy, some pebbly. Staying in the main town and using the bus or car to get about would work.it’s quite picturesque. Or maybe stay in Panormos, about 10/15 minutes from town. It has a long, sandy beach. The Panormos Beach Hotel gets good reviews, as does The Adrina Resort and Spa. If you like ABBA, you can do Mama Mia Tours as some of the film, the second one maybe, was filmed there. Going back towards the main town is Agnontas, a sweet little bay with some nice restaurants.

We just went to the Miramare Hotel just outside Agios Nickolas in Crete. Would fit your criteria
