Hello

I have already booked and paid (in Feb), for flights directly with airline for a trip in Dec.

I now need to change airports. The flight costs are the same.

Airline have said:

Fare difference £0
Change fee: £400
Tax: £167.80

I don't understand what tax this is just to move a flight/ do admin. Does anyone else know?

I asked the airline and they replied with:
Taxes are in any payment.

Thanks!

I would suggest you contact the airline and ask them directly for a full tax breakdown. Air Passenger Duty is not payable if you do not actually fly, so you may be due a refund from your previously booked flight.

You should get a refund of taxes on unused flight.

I haven't had the flight yet. Still planning to take it, just from a different airport.
Thanks

But there should be no additional tax charges as long as both airports are in the same country. Technically one flight is cancelled and taxes refunded then another rebooked including taxes.
