Vienna Hotels

Hi!

Has anyone stayed in any of these hotels? They are our shortlisted hotels for Vienna in Aug and we can't decide!

Hilton Vienna Plaza
Le Meridien
So Hotel
Hotel Indigo (bit further out near Naschmarkt but looks nice and good price)
Motel One Staatsoper - cheaper option
Hotel Rathus Wien and Design

Any thoughts appreciated! We're looking for 2 rooms for 4 nights and budget around £1500 but less would be good. Indigo and Motel One are about £1000.

Thanks!

We stayed at Zoku end of March. Was £80/night I think but I imagine August is more. It’s right next to the Prater theme park, literally the rollercoasters are outside your window! We found this funny but not to all tastes admittedly. You have an IKEA type micro apartment. It’s about 15-20 mins to the centre on the ubahn (station a few mins walk from hotel).

Sorry, so no, didn’t stay in those but would recommend Zoku. Prater is a nice area.

@ThankmelaterOkay thank you! I will take a look now, sounds good!

If you end up in that part of town: Michu Ramen Bar. Very popular, but very very nice.

Mochi* 🤣

@ThankmelaterOkay that sounds like somewhere we would like! Thank you 😊

We stayed centrally at Perschy Palais which was in an old style building close to the Spanish Riding School. Recommend having schnitzel at Figlmueller, they are huge, but it is very popular and you may need to queue. Look out for valuables, especially on the underground, as pickpocketing is rife.

Can I join this but all four hotels at the cheaper end of the budget? It's only for one night.

NCTDN · 06/06/2023 21:22

*but for hotels

LaLaFlottes · 06/06/2023 21:24

@NCTDN I’m hoping we can stick to cheaper hotels if possible!

The Indigo IHG hotel seems good and reviews are positive - also Motel One.
Hopefully there will be more suggestions too. 😊

Did you visit the Spanish Rising School?

Yes we did. Expensive but fun. You can see the horses in their stables too. You can buy mini sachertorte at the shop in hotel Sacher. Belvedere Palace is worth a visit fir the Klimts and gardens.
