Cabin luggage - long haul

Hello!

I have my first long haul flight ever coming up and have decided to treat myself to a proper cabin bag. I've had a look at what's on offer but not really sure where to start. Has anyone got recommendations for a two-wheel case? I don't mind spending a bit but don't want to pay for style over substance (but will pay for something practical that will last a long time).

Any and all recommendations welcome 🙏

Get one with spinner wheels, gives you more options on how you can drag it along.

TKMaxx has great options in store. Costco as well, if you're a member.

Agree 4 wheels not 2, and make sure it is the correct size for your airline.

Are you getting allowance to put large bags in the hold? If so, you really shouldn't need a piece of luggage in the cabin with you. You'll have to lug it around the airport. The beauty of long haul travel is that your suitcase disappears and all you need to carry is your handbag Smile

I agree with this, especially if you've got connecting flights. I find a small bag, big enough for the bare minimum essentials but small enough to fit under the seat much easier to deal with on long haul flights. A carry on case has to go in the overhead compartment so not really easily accessible during the flight.

The problem with the 4 wheels is that they take up a lot of the space in the dimensions for cabin baggage. The two wheeled ones have more space inside.
Samsonite ones are well made and reliable. We have the Triumph 41L ones, which are great - they have good compartments and are squashy so can can lots in if needed - I don't like the hard shell ones for that reason.

Depends on your long haul. If it's just one flight then definitely four over two wheel (vertical rather than that stupid angle which - as a shorty - I cannot deal with).
