Majorca in late April - Puerto Pollensa?

we are thinking of going to Majorca in late april with our 2 year old daughter - can't go any later since I am pregnant with number 2!

we've never been to Majorca but P Pollensa is recommended by friends. is it very quiet that time of year? will it be cold? will sea/pools be too cold for toddlers?

any advice welcome!

Jacqui

Hi, we have been to Pollenca for the last 2 years, last year was in may (same situiation as you!!)
It was warm but not baking and fairly quiet.
Mostly the other people there were with pre school children so your DD should find someone to play with.
The sea was cold but OK for paddling for a bit. Our pool was freezing (not heated obviously!!) but DD did not seem to mind, and as long as it was late afternoon when the sun had been on it all day, then we let her go in for 10 - 15 mins.
It truly is a great place IMO and very child friendly.
Take yourselves off to the square in the evening for a drink and an icecream for DD and she can run about with the other kids!!
Relax and have a great time.
We are back there in July this year and I cannot wait

Went to PP twice over easter - so mid April roughly. I'd say you could be lucky and get a really warm week, but even if not, it will be very pleasant. The sea will be fine for paddling, even for a toddler. A bit like cornwall in summer, but the waves will be small and gentle.

We went there for our honeymoon with parents and DS! sTAYED IN A VILLA WITH A POOL WITH VINTAGE TRAVEL - incidentally if you fancy a villa it ws great and you might get a good deal. The resort is great for kids, but make sure you get to pollenca town, which is a few miles inland, great village square, nice atmosphere, places to eat, lovely! We went mid May and it was baking so you may get the odd day of rain but should be fine. I'd definately go again. It can be nice to hire a car, there's other places to see in that general area of the island.

Puerto Pollensa is fantastic - we've been every year since our eldest was born, def visit the square in the evening and the Italian rest. on pine walk (promenade). It is cooler than some of the other Southern resorts but we've been April and Sept/Oct and had good weather.
We recommended it to friends with children and they too love it!

I'm jealous ..

There is a lady on our post natal thread that lives in Majorca - Maveta - I will point her over here for you - she is a veritable font of knowledge!

Pueoto Pollenca is a fab place.. We stayed near the Pine Walk which is where I would def look again next time we go.

Ideal with children, in fact I think I am off in search of accomodation and flights right now!...

many thanks for your messages - it has confirmed my thoughts that it will be the perfect place for a family holiday.

we booked a villa near P Pollensa last night and am starting to feel excited! Just need to work out what on earth I'm going to wear being almost 7 months pregnant and going to a beach!!
