Car free holiday

This is a big ask but could anyone recommend a holiday destination in Europe that doesn't need a car as I don't drive. Self catering, with a pool, not too hot (red-heads!)? Thanks so much, I'm completely stuck!

Switzerland. perfect set up for public transport everywhere.

If you’re wanting sun go to the south part, the Ticino, perhaps Locarno or Ascona on the Swiss side of Lake Maggiore.

Most resorts are fine, just got back from Ibiza and there was a bus service stopping outside and walking distance to larger supermarket. Villas tend to be further out. I've never rented a car myself (they put the wheel on the wrong side!Grin)

Puerto Pollensa on Majorca? They bus people (frequently) over from airport.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I think that Spain and Portugal would be too hot for me. Ideally looking for something around 26c. Switzerland is a great idea though I have heard it is very expensive, I'll check it out. Thank you!

We’re going to a resort in the Netherlands where you bike everywhere. Take a bike or rent it there.

Lake Garda! Fly to Verona and there is a bus that takes you directly to Pesciera. We stayed at Camping del Garda but there are loads of places to choose from. It's always been warm rather than boiling hot when we have been there although we have had a little bit of rain as well!
You can get a train into Verona or even Venice for the day. Or you can go on boat trips across the lake. We also hired bikes one day to ride by the lake. You definitely don't need a car!

Depends on how busy you like it... Lierna on Lake Como was a lovely little place, a few restaurants, swimming beach on the lake, boat hire and a train station. I recommend Lierna Castle to stay at, amazing apartment overlooking the lake.
