Anyone know L'Escala on the Costa Brava?

We're going there, can't wait! Does anyone know the area and if so can you recommend visits, restaurants etc.

I went there on a cycling holiday (we were there 2 nights!), it is a lovely place! The beach is lovely and clean, if you walk down the hill following the beach, there is a fascinating archeological dig. Don't make the same mistake we did as the entrance is only clear if you aren't on foot! If on foot, follow the path until you come to a chainlink fence, then walk up the path to a road,and on the right there is an entrance / exit with barriers!
