Looking to get away for a week at end of January. Never been to Tenerife, definately looking for the quieter side of things with kids facilities (2yo). Any recommendations please? On areas as well as hotels Grin

Pinkmamma - we went on holiday in October to the south of Tenerife - stayed at the Bahia del Duque. A colleague recommended the south as better weather and beaches than the north, but the north as better for towns, nightlife and shopping. The south was good for us, and the beaches are pretty decent. The hotel facilities were quite good, and there are two baby pools with very shallow water and places for parents to sit around them. There is also a children's club at the hotel - very low key and ok for 2 yo, although in that case, I saw some parents hired a hotel nanny to accompany the child as there are only a few staff and it can get crowded. It was perfect for our dd aged 5, though. Hotel has a lot of restaurants, but one which is buffet only for dinner, which is good with little ones. Generally child friendly, but built into a hill, so lots of walking and not always stroller friendly, I think. The Bahia del Duque seems to be the most expensive one in that area (and it was quite pricey, in my opinion, compared to quality of room/food/service), but quite nice. We saw a few other hotels in the same area, though, which also looked pretty decent, and probably less expensive, and probably just fine if what you're loooking for is quiet, some sun, and some nice time with your child.
