Munich - somewhere for kids

I'm in Munich at the end of this week for a full day and wondering where would be best to visit with a one year old and five year old.

I've had a look at some recommendations online and Deutsches Museum looks to be a good contender to spend a few hours. Wondering if it's worth it or if there's somewhere else they can run around, let off some steam and have fun?

Thanks!

Hellabrunn Zoo would be a good option if the weather is alright www.hellabrunn.de/en/park-visit/offers-in-the-zoo/kids

There's a great aquarium in the Olympic Park, and there's a BMW museum nearby too if you want indoors things. For outdoors you can also do a lot in the Englisher Garten which is a huge park (bigger than Hyde Park) and has nice playparks and a lovely traditional bandstand and beergarden which is very family oriented. On Sundays they sometimes have a brass band playing a concert.

The Deutsches Museum is huge and when we were there last summer the kids floor was closed so check its open again before you go there. Its nice to go to the pedestrian area in thr city centre too, there's a famous mechanical clock which does a show every hour.

Thank you for all the suggestions@Oncetheystartschool , this is really helpful.

My husband is keen to visit the BMW Museum but I wasn't sure how child friendly it is for young ones.

Hi OP, hope you had a nice break. I am going to Munich with my 8 and 6 year old soon. I'd be grateful for any tips! Thanks.
