Accommodation in New York with two teens

We’re planning a trip to New York in the summer-DH and I and and two DC. Could anyone recommend a hotel with interconnecting rooms or an apartment with two bedrooms. Kids are boy and girl so need separate beds for them and we don’t t all want to be in one room. Close enough to attractions and transport links so we can do all the tourist stuff in around 4-5 days
Thanks

Shamelessly following as we have the same issue. DD doesn't want a sofa bed anymore.

We now have two rooms and DH shares with DS and I share with DD. Doesn’t matter if the rooms are close together but they usually are.

Try the Radio City Apartments, which is a block or two away from Times Square. Never stayed there before, but we have booked the two-bedroomed apartment in July. Reviews look ok.

We stayed in the Embassy Suites - 2 basic rooms next door to each other. Worked well

We stayed in The Paul NYC in December. It was fine and we got two interconnecting rooms, one with a double and the other with twin beds. We've also stayed in the Radio City Apartments. The apartment was rather dated, but it's a good location and you get plenty of space. We had the 2-bedroom suite and it was big. It may also have been decorated since as I think we stayed in 2015.
