Is it good for young families? We done Cala D’or & loved it. I’ve heard Puerto Pollensa is lovely but don’t know if it’s suitable for families or not?

Yes! Lovely safe beaches, lots of restaurants, water park short drive away. Pollenca is lovely!

Yes, is great. We took our DS last year when he was about 20mo.
Perfect beach for little ones, wide, sandy and calm. A couple of playgrounds on the beach.
Lots of restaurants had children's menu's and plenty of other families dining.
A cycle route along the beach
We used a company called multihire for a cot, booster chair, toys and a push trike thing.

It's the best place I've been for young families. We've stayed at the Playa Mar a couple of times. It's a bit further out than some of the other hotels but it's great for young kids. We enjoyed the pine walk to the beach (about 15 mins if you're going slow) but mainly stayed in the hotel because it's so good.

Keep an eye out for jellyfish. It's a huge cove and they can't get back out to sea.

Tinks15 · 22/01/2023 14:47

Thank you all other than the Playa Mar are there any other recommendations where to stay?

It's perfect for families.

Accommodation to look at is:

Playa Mar - family friendly but a bit of a walk to the main beach/town centre.
Flora - self catering, great location but facilities not so great. The pool area can get busy.
Puerto Azul - great location and good facilities for families - plenty going on but it's not in your face. Can be expensive.
Villa Concha - family friendly but a bit further out from the centre. Plenty going on for kids.
Club del Sol - big, good facilities but far out from the town - there is a regular bus service.
Pollensa Park hotel - biggest hotel in the resort, has had mixed reviews over the past few years.

we've been holidaying there for many years and usually stay at the Puerto Azul. Mainly due to the location, the staff and that it used be apartments, so the rooms have a separate living area with sofa beds and a separate bedroom, so there's plenty of space. It's a five minute walk to the beach and the main square.

We stayed in this apartment as my parents came too. Great location just one block back from the wide part of the beach and promenade of restaurants. Big patio for meals in the evening and sunbathing whilst our son napped. Never saw anyone else in the pool.

It’s lovely.
Nice beach and some lovely restaurants all within a compact area.
if you don’t need a kids club there is a huge selection of nice private apartment accommodation available.
Compared to when we first went in 2018 - accommodation costs have risen massively though I would say.

Good choice - you won't regret it. It's a fab hotel with really lovely staff.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I’ve booked apart hotel flora and a bit apprehensive, though think my kids will love it. Can anyone give me any more info?

Stayed there a few times but not for a few years now. It's not fancy but it's clean, apartments are well equipped and the staff were always really helpful and lively.

the pool area can get busy, but there is plenty of grass that surround the pool area and the grounds are lovely. There's a little play park that's decent.

The location is excellent, it's a five minute walk down to the beach and not much more along to the main square.

We are going back to Cala D’Or . We went to Puerto Pollensa which is absolutely lovely when the children were young but not particularly scenic. Cala d Or has so much more to offer with variety, endless coves ,marina and boat trips . We are going there again in August with our granddaughter and it is my happy place .

Puerto Pollensa is perfect for those with children or those who want a holiday in a lovely resort. We've stayed at the Hotel Daina, Mar Senses and the Miramar. All of the these are excellent but not necessarily suitable for children. However, there is plenty of good accommodation in PP. I prefer to be near the Pine Walk.

@trying29 The flora is great, we’ve stayed there a couple of times, last time was last year. My two are teens now and they loved it there. Location is amazing, aircon is fab, and the food is good if you have pool side snacks etc. I actually prefer it to the azul, which is a bit more all singing and dancing. You’ll have a fab time. When are you going? We go in three weeks but couldn’t get into the flora this time as we booked late.
