Just wondering which would you recommend in July/August, I know its the rainy season so was looking at Ko Sumai but I love Phuket, we went years ago and would love the kids to see it but has anyone gone at that time and would you say rain would ruin the holiday or is it only on and off a few times during the day? Any advice

I've been in Koh Samui in August. (also Bangkok and Chiang Mai) The rain doesn't stop you doing anything- yes, it rained every day, but for quick bursts then it was hot and sunny again.

I went to Koh Samui in July. Was a couple of downpours but over quickly and back to hot - sunny. Didn't stop us at all!
