Help me before I go spare, kids club for 3yr olds....

We are looking for a nice as possible hotel, where we can have the following:

1 - A room/suite/apartment with two bedrooms, (us in one, DTwins in the other, in proper beds) not interconnecting, we wouldn't feel comfortable with that as DTwins are only 3.

2 - A complimentary kids club that actually takes 3 year olds. Everything, and I mean everything I've looked at for the best part of 6hrs now, starts at 4yrs. Age 3 kids, if we want a nice hotel, they seem to want you to sit in the kids club with them. The cheap hotels don't seem to have this requirement, which is bizarre.

3 - First week of September (last week of Aug at a push) probably to Majorca as it seems the shortest flight time.

I can find either a lovely room, or the under 3 kids club, but not together. Apart from one place if we want to pay 17,000EUR bed and breakfast!

Please help if you know of anywhere before I pluck my eyeballs out and throw them at the tripadvisor screen :)

You should look at Sani out Ikos. They are very luxurious and both have kids clubs where you don’t have to stay with your 3 year old (but you do have to pay extra for the sessions. I just had a quick look at both and you could do the first week in September at Sani in a two bed family suite for £7,877 half board out £1,000 more full board, you’d just need to book flights on top of that. If you were willing to go in a family suite (which is two interconnecting rooms) it would be half that. Ikos is all inclusive and is more expensive if you want a two bedroom villa in some resorts but around the same price in others, again the family suite are about half the price.

What’s your reason for not wanting interconnecting rooms? You can lock the children’s room door to the hallway and put the chain across so they can’t escape and no one’s going to get in their room. You could leave the interconnecting door open once you’re going to bed and use a baby monitor for extra reassurance.

First choice holiday villages take from age 3 in their kids clubs. I think it’s the same with their sensatori and Tui Blue branded hotels

Agree that interconnecting rooms are fine at their age. Keep the doors between you open and have a monitor. Check when booking there’s a chain or similar on the door out into the hallway. Otherwise I think you can buy locking devices

I’ve not been but Zafiro is spoken highly of.

TUI blue/sensatori are worth a look?

Pine Cliffs in the Algarve but I’d check the kids club ages as it’s been a while.

You’ll probably all sleep better not everyone being in one room

Try the Martinhal places. Portugal so not a long flight. We had a lovely apartment at Sagres.

Tagoro hotels, either in Tenerife or Lanzarote, have excellent family rooms and children’s clubs. We’ve been to Lanzarote twice and are going again and being able to sleep separately from the children really makes a difference.

There were some lovely family suites in a Tui hotel in sa coma that I was looking at would that work for you?

This was my holiday requirement last year! I think I looked at every hotel in Europe. We ended up going to Parco san Marco resort in Italy. It was amazing. Kids club, 2 bed apartment in hotel, on a beautiful lake, lots of restaurants. Only downside was restaurants weren't open very early for kids and required booking. The other option was Club Med, some of them take younger kids in kids clubs. Good luck!

Done Porto Sani, fabulous place. DH actually found Martinhal Sagres last night and it looks a really good bet.

Interconnecting rooms might be something to consider then, I suppose it's not too different to having a two bedroom appartment/suite, and probably much cheaper that way.

Zafiro is 4 and up kids club I think as that was one of the first places that came up.

Only downside I can see to Martinhal is that the kids club is payable, and somewhere like Sani, it's complimentary.

Only thing with Sagres is it's the windiest place I've ever been in my life. Made it feel cold and grim when an hour along the coast was much warmer and tranquil.

Neilson and Mark Warner both have brilliant kids clubs for 3 year olds. The rooms vary at each resort so you'd need to check which was most suitable.

Can I ask what time of year you went?

Speak to Baby Friendly Boltholes. They are brilliant at this sort of holiday.

@TwinsAndTiramisu in August. We stayed in Carvoeiro but did a day trip to Sagres the weather was very different.

@Whatnextarghhhhhh we are thinking of the Martinhal Sagres, possibly Mimosa Villa, can I ask if this is similar to what you had, and does it come stocked with toiletries? Bit of a random ask I know, but if not, we're packing 5 x peoples wash kit with us!

Tui Blue Tropical in Sarigerma is amazing for families with young kids, I know loads of people go year in year out.

Turkey is nearly a 5hr flight time, DTwins are not good at sitting at the best of times, that would be literally hell for us and the rest of the plane. We're only looking at 3hrs max for flights...

You’re pretty much limited to Spain then. I know there is a TUI Blue on Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza. They all have the kids club from age 3. I can’t give too much advice as the only one I have been to is the Ibiza one but that was back in 2018 and it’s been refurbished since then. I’d still be more inclined to recommend the other two just from a location point of view however.

Martinhal Sagres is brilliant, we’ve been there 3 times with our two children. We went in June and then late August/early September. It can be windy but we found the temperature perfect for little ones, as the breeze takes the edge off the heat. We have stayed in the ocean houses and garden houses which were both great. We didn’t use the kids clubs as ours refused but they looked fab.
