Northern lights photography

I have very excitedly booked a northern lights holiday for next winter. If I'm lucky enough to see the lights, I'm really keen to take some good photos.
Does anyone have recommendations for good cameras that are suitable for quality northern lights photos?
I used to have a great camera but it broke a few years ago and I never replaced it because my iphone has such a good quality camera for all other situations, but I just don't think iphone will cut it for nothern lights?

At the least you’ll want a tripod, and to be able to control the shutter speed. You can download apps on the iPhone for taking NL pictures, although I’m not sure how good they are.

The most up to date type of camera to buy at the moment would be a mirrorless, but it will massively depend on how much you want to spend? And what else would you use it for - surely you want to use it more generally and not just for this trip? Because - not to be negative or want to put you off - but there’s a lot of luck involved in spotting the lights, even if you go far north in the middle of winter. There’s no guarantee.
