Ten year anniversary

Hello, it's our tenth wedding anniversary in August and would like to take a trip just the two of us, maybe 4/5 days. We're in central Scotland so any airports in Scotland/northern England best. Any ideas? We'd looked at New York but looks like it might be out of budget. We've been to Barcelona before so don't want to go there, or northern Italy. Thanks for any ideas!

Iceland? It would be great weather for whale watching. You can do enough in 5 days. Good food and plenty to see and do within easy driving of Reykjavik.

Alternatively: Paris, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen.

Lisbon? What sort of thing do you like? Beaches, museums, food?

If you can fly from Edinburgh, there are hundreds of options, it just depends how well you can handle the heat in August in most of Europe. Dubrovnik is great for a short break as you can combine a bit of relaxation by the beach at your hotel if you pick one in Lapad or similar, with city sightseeing - but apparently ridiculously hot in July/August. Budapest also great for a short break.

Thanks for suggestions! I had looked at Lisbon. I like to have things to do to keep busy but also somewhere warm to just chill would be nice too. This is the problem with going kid friendly places for the last two decades... not sure what I want for me 🤔 we're not huge on fancy restaurants or nightclubs but like decent pubs, nice food etc.

Pubs abound in Ireland! Not sure about elsewhere. You might love Dublin.

Malaga? Really easy to fly there and travel by train along the coast to Marbella etc.
