Special holiday in October

DH and I are planning a holiday for a big birthday in October. 10-12 nights, ideally somewhere hot / tropical that we can relax but which also has a little culture or sights to see. Just the two of us.

Budget circa £3k for the both of us.

The only thing we can't decide on is where! Considering the Caribbean, Mexico, Various parts of Asia, Mauritius although we were there fairly recently, not sure if any of Europe will still be warm enough in October for what we want?

So, in our circumstances, where would you go in October?

Barbados. Beautiful island, wonderful people, plenty to see and do.

We loved Barbados. If you go i recommend you stay on the west coast near Holetown for the best beaches and hire a car. Car hire is really reasonable and you will see lots and its great fun exploring the island. Drivers are mega polite and considerate as no-one is going anywhere too far. Enjoy!

Phuket in Thailand

I think you’ll struggle to find Caribbean for £3k, and it’s hurricane season in October.

good time to go to Cyprus. Could also look at Egypt, Jordan, Turkey.

Senegal or Gambia?

Thanks all. St Lucia was do-able for £3k but possibly because of hurricane season.

My attention has now turned east and if we stump up another £1000 between us (not out of the realms of possibility) we can do Singapore and Bali in reasonably nice accommodation - nice in Bali anyway, we won't be in it much in Singapore so matters less.

I’d go east.
