Would we need to go further afield to,guarantee hot sunny beach weather?

It depends whereabouts (costal will be cooler), but I was there a couple of years ago in Jan, and it was low to mid-twenties. Nights seemed cold, though they weren’t in comparison. And it was cloudy around 50% of the time. Didn’t rain until February though.

Of course, that was just a snapshot. But if you want to guarantee better weather, or at least try to, I would look elsewhere. Jan and Feb are just too changeable in my opinion.

We were there for new year a while back.
It was lovely - shorts and sun hat weather - but I'm not sure I'd have been sunbathing or swimming in the sea - tho we lived somewhere warm at the time, so could have been fair weather swimmers, and everyone else be delighted by water temperature!
I'd go for a hotel with a heated pool.

Thanks, that was my slight worry x

Not Oman but went to Israel in February before. It was high teens/low 20s. Walked around in t shirts and shorts while locals wore their thick coats!
