Portugal resort type hotel recommendations?

Anywhere TAP Airlines flies as I have a voucher. Could be e.g. Azores as well as mainland.

Resort type hotel but needs to have some stuff to do around it, not completely middle of nowhere. Beach not essential.

Either family room with a good amount of space or two interconnected rooms. Balcony or terrace.

Definitely pool and has to have a kids club because my children are exhausting. 5 and 8 years old.

Ideally options which are not just all inclusive as we don't drink much and it seems a waste.

Not super luxe... budget around £5k for two weeks in summer holidays.

Doesn't sound too hard but I haven't found anything yet.

Vidamar Resort in Madeira

I'd agree with Madeira. We've stayed at hotels without the facilities you want, so can't recommend them to you.
Funchal has a lot of hotels, there are good bus services, as well as the HoHo.
Plenty to see & do.

Madeira! An immaculate island.
Lots to do.
Lovely people.
We’re just back. Weather was fab. Went swimming every day. We can’t wait to go back.
Lots of hotels to choose from.

It’s a hilly island so bear that in mind if you choose a hotel high up the hillside & don’t like walking up hills! Taxis are cheap enough.

Thanks all! Will check out Madeira.
