Need to make a correction on paper passport

I’m applying for child’s first passport via 1 week fast track so will need to take paper application to the appointment.

I’ve completed the form including counter signature but noticed I made an error on the form itself which needs correcting.

Do I need to complete a new form with new countersignature or can I cross and rewrite on the existing form?

I’m 90% sure it’s a new form needed

I once did check and send at the post office for my nephew's passport and the post office woman noticed his dob was wrong on the form. We just corrected it, but this was ten years ago.

The countersignatory is confirming that the photo is a good likeness and that they know you, not the other details so it shouldn't matter that there's a correction.
