Hi. Ds (16 yo) is going abroad on a school trip soon. Is there a good prepaid card I can get him that he can use in Europe without getting stung for fees? Googling hasn't helped as many websites aren't clear. Thanks.

Revolut is a good option. The app is really simple and allows for currency conversion. We use it when we go abroad.

I’ve had one of the post office travel money cards before: was good!

@b8tes7sw - is the revolut a straight money loading card? If it is, it seems like that would be the best way to go.

Yes, you just load money directly onto the revolut. It's really easy to use.

Don’t bother with pre pay open either a starling or chase acoout. Both fantastic for using abroad. Chase you get cash back as well. As the Mastercard day rate.

Also get them a card for your credit card as if any issues they have a back up plan.
A very kind gent paid for my daughters food when the bank bounced her card even though she told them she was travelling
