Rome hotel recommendations October half term

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for somewhere central to stay in Rome for 2 adults and 2 teens.

I would narrow your search down to area. What do you want to see? Are you ok on public transport? How much will you spend? Do you want lots of restaurants? I haven’t been for years but we stayed near The Forum last time. Went to Trastavere for dinner. However it also felt a bit remote.

We stayed at the Hotel California near the termini. It had an excellent restaurant next door for when we were tired in the evening and didn’t want to trek too far, and it was close to the train and buses which helped plan sightseeing.
Its not luxury but the hotel was well placed, quiet and clean.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Maria in Trastavere which was lovely.

Thanks. Want to see as much as possible as have never been before.

Hotel Tritone on the Via del Tritone. It’s around the corner from the Trevi fountain one way and the Pantheon the other. Very comfortable.

We stayed in a family room at Hotel Navona a few years ago, it was a very reasonable price for Rome, and exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and location.
