It's been a ropey few years for my family. From 2 relocations, bereavements, family dynamic changes etc.
Whatever. I have a birthday ending in a zero next year and I don't want a party, I want to treat my DP and lovely children (11 and 8) to a smashing family holiday. I am going to write out the list of ideals, but I can be flexible on most of them except those with stars next to them.
- end of March/early April
- warm (25 degrees as a rough guide/minimum)*
- kids club/entertainment for at least half the day*
- good food*, at least half board, probably ly
- something to do 'offsite' (walks, local town, historic site)*
- flying out of one of the London or Midlands airports*
- activities/waterworks included
- by water (sea or lake)*
Now I've typed it out it's basically everything but the date 😆
I keep going back to mark Warner, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Budget is probably about 6k for the 4 of us, unless I get contributions as a gift for my birthday... or a sudden lottery win.
Has anyone got any genius ideas? I'm happy to face off against school about the kids missing a week of school for the trip, so dates are probably relatively flexible (esp as my bday would mean we need to go to fricking Africa for warm weather).
Ideally I'd like to go 10 days but MW doesn't do that anymore.
I can get some small discounts through work (5%) or so, which will help.
Please help me plan a great birthday. My birthday is so crap every year. The one just gone both the kids got covid the weekend before and I came down with it on the day!
