How do you search for flexible changeover dates to match cheap flights?

I have been looking on various websites, Owners Direct, holiday rentals, homelidays etc but you have to trawl through each entry and then find it is a Saturday changeover and the Saturday changeovers are twice as much. Is there any way round this? Or another site where you can search on this?

I have spent hours and not got very far.

if you are looking for easter, you may be able to stay an extra day or so. Otherwise another options is to spend a night either side in a cheap hotel. This way get city break as well as self catering

Thanks. I am actually looking for August. And was hoping to go for two weeks. I suppose we could do a week in a villa and a few days in a city but southern European cities will be very hot in August. The other thing is that we can't go first week in August and DH's birthday is Saturday 9th and he is not impressed with the idea of flying on that day.

If you just paid for the night of the ninth and did not arrive til the 10th, would you save any money on flights?

Probably. I suppose we could do that on the 16th also and arrive on the 17th, then would need just one night in a city at the end. I have looked at Tuscany (but am not sure because DC like beaches and most accommodation inland) but there are lots of lovely cities in the area. And also the Costa Brava so we could have a night in Barcelona or Perpignan althouch cheap flights are from Gerona.
