Ive heard of people using randox for testing

KangarooKenny · 23/07/2022 08:16

DD recently used randox, ordered test to click and collect location could collect as soon as ordered, cost £11, you then do test and submit image of test within 15 mins of taking test, its then reviewed through the app and you get certificate within 3 hours. Also need to complete blue section of spTH form, this is very straight forward and qr code is sent via email straight away.

Cuck00soup · 23/07/2022 20:26

Where abouts are you?

Options local to me are a private clinics at £30-£40 or a certified version you do yourself which is cheaper.

If you give a vague area, Mumsnetters may be able to recommend options for you.

We used Chronomics, ordered them through TUI.
LFT for £15. Registered it and uploaded result the day before departure. Got certificate emailed about 10 minutes later

Ballsaque · 23/07/2022 20:42

Chronomics also via Tui

DixiePeach · 24/07/2022 14:34

Hi I need to get a test done for a child travelling to Spain too. Please could anyone tell me which is more preferable pcr or lft? I know you can get the pcr result quicker although more expensive than the lft. Is that it?

dementedpixie · 24/07/2022 14:44

Surely LFT is both faster and cheaper
LFT needs to be done closer to departure

KangarooKenny · 24/07/2022 14:49

Are the airlines or destinations looking for tests from certain providers ?

OP posts:
PinkPair · 24/07/2022 14:49

LFT faster and cheaper.
But we found it had to be done within 24hrs of arrival but PCR could be 48hrs before (not Spain)

easyday · 24/07/2022 15:18

Boots do it.

easyday · 24/07/2022 15:21

I'm doing it for a cruise and they say it must be done in front of a certified tester (so not a home test), can't be an antibody test (so can be a lateral flow or PCR, the former is cheaper). They issue a certificate (can be on your phone). Like I said, I'll probably do it at Boots as it's nearby. Results for antigen test is less than an hour.

KangarooKenny · 29/07/2022 07:19

I asked at my nearest Boots, they don’t do it in my area.
Going to have to order one now.
Does anyone know when I send it off ? It’s a PCR so needs to be 72 hours before we get there. I emailed one company to ask and they relied that they can’t guarantee when the result would be ready 🤷🏼‍♀️

C19 Testing, they deliver the test your house within 24hours of ordering and you upload the results online, within 15 mins you have the certificate. We use them loads as we live in Spain but DH hasn't had his booster & he often comes back to the uk for work . I think the cost is £10 - £15 per test. Super impressed with the service

Is it an LFT ? Do you do the test yourself ?

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 29/07/2022 08:33

It sounds like an LFT and yes you do the test yourself

KangarooKenny · 29/07/2022 08:38

That sounds better. I’m panicking about when to do the test to get it to the lab in time through the post.
An LFT you do at home and then report for a certificate sounds better, although I suppose in theory you can report a negative when it’s positive.

MrsAlwaysRight · 30/07/2022 22:31

We used Living Care for LFT for DD. Arrived quickly and once test uploaded we got the certificate back within 10mins! Oh and cheap compared to some of the others we looked at.

KatharineofAragon · 30/07/2022 22:54

I thought Spain had dropped entry restrictions?

dementedpixie · 30/07/2022 23:00

Only for vaccinated travellers

WTH · 30/07/2022 23:06

They’re all charlatans and should be ashamed of themselves Angry
