A group of us are going to Croatia in September and looking at villas. It seems we can either do a pool or the water and im wondering if anyone has an knowledge of how the beaches are.

We’ll be flying in to Zadar and looking for somewhere north of Split - either inland or on the coast.

Presumably you already know that very few of the beaches are sandy. Fine shingle is the closest you’re going to get – and, in most cases, the beach is one of smooth pebbles or rocks. Only in rare cases – such as the city beach in Split – someone come and dumped sand somewhere convenient because it’s easier for people to play and lie on.

There are sandy beaches in Croatia, not endless like in the UK, but still beautiful. The most known is Sakarun on Dugi Otok (island) near Zadar, also Queen's beach in Nin near Zadar...Beach Slanica on island Murter... etc..best thing is to google it. Although I would suggest that you don't limit yourselves based on the sand as there are beaaautiful beaches that are not sandy but tiny pebbles and amazing clear sea! Enjoy!!
