If you've been would you recommend it? We're a family of 4 with 2 older teens. We're not bothered if the resort is quiet as long as the beach is good and there are a few bars/restaurants.

Its a nice place but Cala Millor and Sacoma, Cala Bonna, up the coast has more going on

AgentProvocateur · 16/06/2022 06:19

No I wouldn’t recommend it. It has a marina and most people seemed to get takeaways to eat on their boats so the restaurants were very quiet and not much atmosphere.

@MadameGazelle I have tried to PM you about this but the PM format has changed and I don’t know if the message will reach you!

Thank you! I have received the message. Think the resort looks like what we're looking for, reasonably quiet with a good beach and a few bars and restaurants Smile

Glad it reached you :)

I think that it also depends on whether you are looking for somewhere low key and Spanish or a purpose built resort- that will always divide opinions!

MaggieFS · 16/06/2022 15:54

The beach is good but pretty small. You also can't swim far out because of the boats and there's a busy road at the back of the beach. If it's the key element if your holiday, I think you can do better.

Crikeyalmighty · 16/06/2022 16:14

It's a nice very Spanish small town, not really resortish in my view and as someone said a bit atmosphereless but that might suit you? I would recommend Cala Ferrara just down the coast , very picturesque and you then have Cala d'or close by if you want a bit more life- busy and very resortish , but great beaches and lots of shade.

Whammyyammy · 16/06/2022 16:18

Visited the caves there whilst in cala millor it was nice for a day trip at marina and caves, but wouldn't want to stay there

I was there last week! We stopped off on a glass bottomed boat trip to see the caves of Drach. The beach is alongside the dock where all the glass bottom boats pull in, separated by what looked like builders’ plastic fencing and broken concrete.

If a nice beach is your priority, I think you’d be disappointed. It did look like nice sand but it’s a small cove and the immediate surroundings aren’t picturesque, and yes, as @MaggieFS says, it’s busy with tourist boats coming in and out.

ToastedBunny · 19/06/2022 09:20

@HeddaGarbled I think you might be being a bit unfair to Porto Cristo! There are many reviews on line of people saying what a nice little town it is. Did you explore at all?
