Car Seat for Private Transfer
AliSxo · 11/06/2022 11:55
Hi, my son is 18mo and we're going to Spain for our first family holidays in a few weeks. Booked a private transfer for the 3 of us, roughly 45mins from airport to hotel - would of been 2 hours on the coach and I don't treat myself to many luxuries but the private transfer is my treat!!
Anyway, car seat. Do I need to take one if the transfer won't provide one? I've checked with the holiday companies policy and they don't provide them but I can take one and they'll put it on the plane luggage hold for me.
We won't be going anywhere else on the holiday, it's all there in the resort, I'm tempted to just sit him on my lap for the taxi/transfer but then understand this isn't the safest option.
Our car seat at home is a Cybex Sirona so maybe I could take this and buy a cover bag for it, just worry about it being bashed all over the plane luggage hold.
Any advice is much welcome xx

Hi OP. I wouldn't want to be taking my car seat away for reasons like you stated, being bashed around etc or worse airline loosing it (which seems to be quite common with luggage at the moment!) Especially if your seat is an expensive one. I would buy a cheap one for this purpose, I've seen seats from £40. May not be as good as your own car seat but would be better than on your knee. If you're going to be going away every year, you can use it again too I guess.
