Florida - Disney hotels questions?

We are on the brink of booking to go for 10 days in May and have so far been thinking of doing 5 nights at the Dis Polynesian and 5 at the Animal Kingdom Hotel but now I am wondering whether it will just be hassle to move hotels halfway through (will it just a waste of one day etc) what do you think? Also will we really need a hire car if we are staying at a disney hotel or could we save some money and/or hassle by not bothering with one and just using the shuttles and booking the odd excursion. Can you tell this is our first time to Florida? thanks in advance.

if you are staying on disney property I wouldn't hire a car. You can book transport to seaworld/universal , and there are enough restaurants on disney property that you don't need to leave the property to eat.

I wouldn't change hotels half way through tbh. more hastle than it's worth just to move to another hotel on the same resort.

The Magic Kingdom
seaworld
Animal Kingdom (the Animal Kingdom Hotel is a great hotel by the way. It has lots to do and is a sight to see in itself.)
Epcot
If you have a chance, go to Kennedy Space Center. It's a wonderful place to visit.
There is also a big shopping center in Orlando called Millenium. Nice place to shop as it is huge and has everything.
there's lots to do in Orlando, don't worry.
