Anybody stayed in a really nice villa near Avignon which had a pool? We want to go this summer and will have a 10, 7 and 1 year old... so pool needs to be fenced...

really want to be within striking distance of Avignon as we're going to motorail it down...

anyone?...

I don't know any specific accomodation (and I am sure someone will come along with a suggestion as this is a popular destination) but have you tried the Gites de France website. It will take you to the regional office and is in English. These are usually french owned villas and it is a fraction of the price. Two years ago we had a large farmhouse in Languedoc for around 6oo for two weeks, which is excellent for the south of France.

What is your budget?

Oh and by the way as far as I know it is now law that all pools must be fenced.

no it is the law that they must be fenced or have an alarm

I am not keen on alarms
I have seen kids jump in (forgetting that the alarm is on) and they don't go off as they don't displace enough water - then an adult gets in and it goes off
