Resort near Malaga

Looking for recommendations for 3 night stay, ideally no more than 30 mins transfer ish.
Want to avoid the obvious tourist spots, really like traditional type places, was looking at Mijas but other ideas needed..,??

Nerja, Frigliana and Ronda are all within the hour from Malaga and are lovely places.

Agree all three of those are lovely but they are all more than 30 minutes away.

Malaga itself is pretty great. Good food, interesting cultural activities and very nice to wander around.

Stay in Malaga! It's really fab.

Just stay in Malaga. It's a great city. Shopping, restaurants are amazing, market with little tapas counters, beach, picasso museum, Roman ruins, historic cemetery, the marina has been done up all fancy. It's perfect for a city break.

Think you'd have to push your 30 minute limit to get away from the tourist traps, but as PP mentioned, Malaga itself is beautiful and has some lovely traditionally Spanish bits as well as a swanky new sea front/marina.

Agree with others, stay in Malaga - it’s nicer than the local resorts
