Kids on cruises? (3+7)

Hello,
Considering cruising holiday (Princess cruises from Southampton) with husband and kids (3&7).
Wondering re buggy. 3yr old is good at walking but sometimes needs a buggy rest. How easy is it with tender to get buggy on with you?

Any advice for cruising with kids is much appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

Where is the cruise to? You might not need to be concerned about the tender if the boat is pulling in to port at each destination.

You would need to get the child out of the buggy to get on a tender. Not many places have tender stops (fjords, Guernsey are the ones that first spring to mind) so you may be OK.

It should be ok. There's usually lots of staff to help.

Thanks all so far 👍🏻🙂

Looking at keeping things simple with around the British Isles.

Cruising is very easy with small children. Tenders are by life boats which are walk on boats, I’m sure you will be fine, there is lots of assistance from crew members.

We did a cruise from Southampton when my kids were that age, it was very easy. I don't think we actually took a buggy with us but lots of people on board did. I expect you would need to fold the buggy to go on the tender but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem at all, there are staff members around to help.
It's a good holiday for little ones, they really enjoyed the kids clubs and it was great to visit different places every day. The pool was disappointing though as it was very deep and there were no shallow / splash pools for little ones. If we did it again I'd look at the bigger p&o or Royal Caribbean ships as they had pools where suitable for kids (we were on a princess cruise).
