Hi, I've booked flights to barcelona for May half-term and will be travelling just myself and 2 DC dd12 and ds15. I'm looking at booking a eurocamp down the coast on the costa dorada, around salou, cambrills, tarragona areas. Has anyone been to any of the costa dorada sites and can recommend one and let me know their experience. It will only be for 3/4 nights. I know the weather can be a bit hit and miss then so planning a trip to port adventura. Alternatively has anyone stayed in a hotel in salou that they can recommend?

All being well, we should be off to stay in Vilanova Park (booked through Alfresco, which is a Eurocamp sister company) next week. So hopefully I can report back to you when we return around the bank holiday Easter weekend 🤞

I've been to Vilanova twice at Easter and Castell Montgri last summer. It was hot all three times, Easter in the mid 20s, August in the 30s. Vilanova is a lovely park, small but the pools are good, loads of sporty stuff to do. Shop's ok, restaurant is good. Castell Montgri is big, several pools, lots of activities, restaurants and shops are great. Port Aventura is very exposed and with all the rides is hotter than you'd expect. It'll be boiling in May. If you get a chance, Tarragona is worth a trip.

Ooh that's good to hear!

Tbh, my weather app is predicting temperatures no higher than late teens!

Was it warm enough for you to use the outdoor pools and were they all open?

We won't be hiring a car this time, so will have to work out how best to get to Port Aventura.

I know there's a bus direct to Barcelona. We may also visit Sitges and Taragona (if I can work out a straight forward route to them).

We've been to Vila Nova and Cala Gogo. Both nice, Cala Gogo is a bit hilly but has its own little beach. We are going back there in aug. Would go back to Vila Nova as well. Booked though both europarcs and lifestyle holidays. Much cheaper than eurocamp.

Pools were open, but a bit cold! Sitges is lovely, as is Vilanova itself. (And Montserrat up the hills). There are buses that go from the camp, we hired a car though. We've always used Lifestyle Holidays, they're massively cheaper than the others.

We went to sanguli 3 years ago and absolutely loved it! It’s a fantastic site, really well kept and the pools are absolutely brilliant. Would definitely recommend 😄.

Thank you Chitty. Did you need a car?

Thanks everyone. I won't have a car so villa nova looks a bit car dependent. I've finally got time to look and I bet cheap deals have gone now. I might be back with more questions!

We did have a car as we drive there 🙈 but you’d be able to walk to the beach and into Salou very easily.

I booked! Tamarit Beach Resort. As a newly single parent the beach bar swung it for me. I'll report back!
