Amsterdam or Venice

Ok so hubby and I are going away for a weekend and can’t decide between Amsterdam or Venice. Plan to go in April for 2 nights. I’d love to hear people’s opinions

Venice lives up to the hype. The most wonderfully, gorgeous romantic city. Amazing. I would go back again and again.

I have only visited Amsterdam briefly and it was nice but not a patch on Venice.

Biennale opens 20th - 24th though and accommodation will be ££££ that week.

I love both cities very very much but - go for Venice it's an incredibly different & unique experience being there. Spring is the perfect time to go.

Both are lovely and you’d have a great time in either. Agree Venice first and then plan Amsterdam for next time!

It really depends what you want from the trip, what you enjoy doing while you're away?
Venice is beautiful but the food wasn't amazing, Amsterdam is better on that score.
Galleries and museums are comparable Amsterdam better for modern art and Venice better for buildings
Amsterdam has cooler bars and better shopping. Venice is more traditionally romantic.

More to do in Amsterdam, but Venice has to be seen at least once in your lifetime and for a short trip it’s perfect.

Agree for 2 nights Venice, its beautiful but for a longer weekend I would pick Amsterdam. We went to Amsterdam recently and had such a great time.

Amsterdam! I found Venice far too touristy. Of course Amsterdam is too but not to the same level.

We’re only going to have about 2 days to explore and I think I’m leaning more towards Amsterdam tbh maybe I should let hubby surprise me 😂

We have been to both many times. For me its Amsterdam.
Plenty nearby too
Delft is do able and I believe nice its on our list to see
This is a easy trip we often do on the bus and a small ferry, its a great day out

Been to both. Venice. Definitely Venice.

Explore the islands via vaporetto. Walk lots, right down to the bottom. Great places to eat if you fo research. Peggy Gugenheim museum...

I like Amsterdam but Venice is amazing...
