Barcelona airports

Which is the nearest one to the city centre please?

I'm looking at Ryanair flights from Stansted but it says the airport is Costa Brava! Surely this is nowhere near Barcelona??

There’s only one airport in Barcelona. I think you might be looking at flights to Girona.

KirkstallAbbess · 22/02/2022 12:27

Some times Girona is referred to as Barcelona North and Reus as Barcelona South...

I think the central one is BCN.

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/02/2022 12:27

Yes it says Girona! Where is that?

Further north, it's lovely but a distance from Barcelona!

Over an hour by fast train to Girona, closer to two hours from Reus to Barcelona. I suspect that Barcelona North is a name only Ryanair uses.

Thanks, maybe Ryanair doesn't fly to the main airport. I had wondered why their flights didn't come up on Expedia!

IIRC they did pre-Covid, so may do again one day.

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/02/2022 12:43

This is very strange. I've checked Ryanair's website and they DO fly to the main Barcelona airport but their flights aren't available on Expedia, Opodo etc...?

They are on sky scanner but you are best booking direct.

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/02/2022 12:48

Direct with Ryanair @MyDcAreMarvel?

OP posts:
MyDcAreMarvel · 22/02/2022 13:02

Yes it’s easier if there are any issues like cancellations etc

EileenGC · 22/02/2022 18:28

Always, always book direct.

BCN is a major hub for Ryanair, so they will definitely have flights to most of the major UK airports from there.
