Has anyone been to Cala bona?

We've just booked our first family holiday to Majorca - Cala bona at the end of June this year.

I was getting really stressed out looking for holidays and it was between one hotel on Cala dor and one in Cala bona.

The hotel in Cala bona was nicer so we went for that one.

From what I have read Cala bona seems quiet. Just wondering if anyone has been and if there is much to do there?

I've been a few times and I love it, but I've only been out of season. It's not a massive place, but there are bars, restaurants, shops etc. Also a handy, reasonably priced taxi rank.

What kind of things do you enjoy doing?

Years ago. Was nice. Hire a car if you want to see the island.

@Iamanicepersonreally well it's our first family holiday with our little boy who will be 3 at the time. So anything enjoyable for him really. I don't mind just relaxing by the pool or beach during the day. Some nice day trips that my little boy would enjoy would be nice to do as well.

Is Cala millor far from Cala bona? I've read that the beach there is better than Cala bona so wouldn't mind going down there a few times.

Also do you know if the weather is hot the end of June start of July?

You can walk from Cala Bona to Cala Millor and it doesn't take long. 10 to 15 mins depending on which end of Cala Bona you're staying in. Might be a little longer with a toddler.
I much prefer Cala Bona to Cala Millor as it's quieter but still enough shops, cafés etc. There are some really lovely cafés by the harbour in Cala Bona.

Cala Millor has a massive strip of shops/restaurants next to the beach. Burger King etc.

Cala Bona is more low key which I like, but it depends what you're looking for.

I'd say it would be warm at the end of June but not sweltering.

I'm jealous. I love Cala Bona 🙂

Not been for a few years but we love Cala bona. You can walk on the front from the far end of Cala bona all the way to sa coma.

There's lots of lovely bars and restaurants on the front, there's a harbour, then on the border of Cala Millor and sa coma there's a little amusement park with rides and trampolines, presuming it's still there anyway.

The beach is lovely as well with plenty of cafe bars dotted along and most hotels will have entertainment going on.

I've been years ago when my kids were little. Can't say what it's like now but back then it was a lovely family resort. Agree with Iam it will be hot but not too hot.

Cala Bona is a lovely little family resort, I've been there a couple of times when my children were younger and really enjoyed it. It wasn't that quiet when we went (September both times), there's tons of bars, restaurants etc and if you want somewhere else, like a PP said, you can walk down the seafront to Cala Millor.

Funf · 04/02/2022 19:28

One time we stayed in Cala Millor and used to walk the kids to Cala bona Harbour and walk or Taxi back.
I you ask on the Sportsmans facebook page I am sure they will tell you whats good locally for when you go its worth having a look for some of the locals festivals etc as they a great

Is it the Bonaire?

CoolShoeshine · 06/02/2022 06:58

It’s the pert holiday with small children. You can get a boat trip to other resorts and also there is a land train that runs around the resort. But Cala Millor is also easily walked to, the beach there is beautiful, the sea is really clear.
If you are staying at the Bonaire there will also be plenty of entertainment if you don’t want to go out every evening.
