1 day at Chatsworth

Hello, DH & I are planning a few days in the Peaks later this year and would like to visit Chatsworth (never been before). Would you recommend spending our day in the House or Garden? (I'm assuming we won't have time to do both in just 1 day but happy to be corrected).

Definitely book in for a guided tour of the house. That way you get to see and hear about some of the hidden treasures that non-guided visitors would no doubt miss.

Also there is a lovely restaurant there. Book that too.

So I'd go for guided tour in the morning, followed by lunch, followed by a walk around the gardens.

Thank you :-)

There's time for both, with a nice lunch too! We live nearby and go quite often, we take our 4-year-old to the farm/playground too.

I agree, there is time for both if you want to do that. It's lovely. Smile

Tour in the morning, garden after lunch and visit the farm shop!! It's not bang next to the house but follow the signs on leaving

I don't think the house takes very long at the moment so as others have said, guided tour in morning, lunch then gardens. Plenty of time to do it all if you get there by a reasonable time.
