Canada: Toronto-Montreal

We are spending 6 days in Canada, 3 days Toronto and driving to Montreal to spend 3 days there (doing it for the F1 on the Sunday if that matters). Other than Niagara Falls is there anything else we should be doing at those 2 cities or anything along the way? This was a bit of a surprise trip and we know nothing about Canada, we usually go to the US.

We did this in 2019, kids were teenagers. Highlights I remember include:
Toronto:

  • wandering around and enjoying the urban architecture
  • boat trip to the islands just across the bay from the city - very pretty gardens and walks on boardwalks and another chance to admire the city skyline from afar
  • the art gallery
Montreal:
  • the art gallery again!
  • street architecture - loads of very interesting graffiti
  • botanical gardens - a bit out of town but well worth the visit. You can also see the main stadium from the 1976 Olympics which has a retro feel
  • we visited a cat cafe which the kids loved

I would definitely recommend Niagara Falls - the town is tacky central but you can just ignore that and enjoy the amazing Falls.

At Niagra just do the falls. In and out. Def the boat

We love Toronto, the island , distillery district Etc.
