Ibiza - area & hotel recommendations

Any recommendations for a 5 star + hotel in Ibiza please?

I've never been before so no idea which areas are good and which aren't but we don't want a clubby, tacky, full of pissed up Club 18-30 holidaymakers area.

I'm looking for a resort that has a beach, lots of nice al-fresco drinking and dining, and maybe some water sports.

Happy to look at all inclusive (we still eat out of an evening even if we're all inclusive) or completely self catering or anything in between.

Are you taking children? If not, the Sol Melia in Santa Eulalia is fantastic. They serve champagne at breakfast and yoga overlooking the sea, if that's your sort if thing.

Avoid San Antonio! I think the north is meant to be quieter.

In terms of resorts Santa Eulalia is a great bet, well connected, nice restaurants and good hotel options. If you have young children consider Cala Llonga, it has one of the best beaches for children, however the main hotel is due to be shut in 2022 for a big upgrade. Cala Llonga has lots of great villa options however.

Just noticed you mentioned water sports. Cala Pads is just a few minutes on the ferry from Santa Eulalia and has all the water sports and Cala Martina has a very good diving school.
