Marrakesh with baby (and toddler!) - tips needed on practicalities please

Hi, we are going to Marrakesh for Christmas with our two DSs - DS1 is 3 and DS2 is 1. Do you have any tips?

Should I take a stroller, or just a sling(we have a Maclaren-type stroller)?

I was going to take milk cartons, but what is the best way to keep the bottles clean? We have travelled with both DSs before, and I have just used hot tap water and dishwashing liquid to keep the bottles clean. Will it be safe to do that in Marrakesh, or should I take chemical sterilisers?

What about changing DS2? I have read for the rest of us we can expect to use hotel / cafe / restaurant facilities, but how does that translate for a baby?

If you have any other tips, they would be great!

Thx

haven't done it with kids, but the following springs to mind...

  1. do you really need to take bottles and formula? cows milk (uht available locally) in a cup will be 6000 times easier.
  1. changing facilities out and about are virtually non-existant
  1. def take the sling, and the stroller might actually be handy for ds1 if you plan to walk far.

Thanks for the suggestions.

  1. TBH, we haven't even thought about changing DS2 over to cows milk yet, for a whole range of reasons (DS1 was well over the recommended 12 monts when we made the switch). We've had so much going on with DS2 recently - it's not on our radar at all. I think I may just take enough teats to last us the 5 days we'll be there...
  1. Thought as much, we'll have to play it by ear.
  1. Will take the sling, we've found in the past that even if we don't use it locally, the stroller is ALWAYS really useful at airports!

Thanks again,

If your los are fair be prepared for A LOT of attention. It depends how you feel about them being touched; personally I'd have the youngest in a carrier/sling when visiting the souk & the other on reins. But I'd still want the stroller since otherwise it might get very tiring.

The hotels are generally quite luxurious but I didn't notice much in way of facilities for children but maybe we just weren't in that kind of hotel.

And take long trousers, jumpers and cardigans, it gets blooming cold in the evening.

DS1 is very fair. Hadn't thought of taking reins (he's a lot better recently with the running off!), but he has a little backpack that has reins attached so might pack them....

I think it'll be warmish during the day (warmer than UK anyway!) but think it will be quite cold at night!

Thanks for your suggestions,
