I am going to Berlin tomorrow - I have spent all week organising work and family so I can leave them with a clear conscience and havent organised myself with a guidebook. I would love to see some 'must see' historical sights. I would be very grateful if you could recommend some.

Thanks very much!!

definitely the jewish museum.profoundly interesting.also the jewish memorial.
i would reccommend the Stasi museum highly, but you will need to be quite intrepid as it is a bit out of the way-but it is fascinating and has been used as a location for loads of films.take the u-bahn 5 to Magdelenenstrasse and come out of the statio up the steps on the north side of Frankfurter allee. follow the signs to the stasi museum up a side street.the museum is in Haus 1 I think.
Also if you get a chance read anna Funder's book Stasiland which is incredible and gives background about what happened to real people when the wall went up.
Bring lots of warm hats . it will be bloody freezing
