We are planning to go for one day at Christmas but i want to stay two nights in a nice hotel (not mega expensive either but we can afford to treat ourselves a little bit). Any recommendations? Thanks

If you stay in one of the Disney hotels you might get the magic hours if they are doing them - I'd check the opening hours around Christmas to see what time it closes. Or did you want a non-Disney hotel? Is it for children as well?

We have stayed in the Disneyland Hotel ( most expensive and on the edge of the park) and had some really great stays in The Newport Bay which is a short walk down. Have a great time I am very envious!

If you stay one night onsite, you’ll get park tickets for 2 days and extra magic hours.

The DLH is closed for refurbishment. Not sure if the Marvel hotel is open yet. Next down is Newport Bay.

Depends on what you want to achieve in one day bearing in mind park hours are short in winter. Try and go during the week to avoid the locals going at the weekend.

I’ve stayed onsite and off site. Onsite, for me is always preferable.

We loved the Newport Bay Hotel. Was a lovely walk into the park and overlooked the lake. Food was decent and comfiest beds I've tried.
