Alternatives to the USA

Me and DH have a big one last nice-holiday-before-kids booked for September. It’s looking increasingly unlikely we’ll be able to go unless the US decides to let us in (both double-jabbed) soon.

We’re looking for alternative blow-out holidays to countries that will let us in.

Where would you go? Our budget is roughly £4000 each for a week or more. Has to be classy and interesting. We’re not keen on Europe or resort holidays where there’s nothing to do outside of the resort. We love Anantara but it seems to us that none of the countries where they are, and fit our criteria, let us in. Are there other hotel chains that have a similar feel?

Ah, sorry to see you’re in the same situation, although I realise that it’s a privileged position to be in!

We were originally thinking Canada but went for the US as we knew that it had everything we wanted and we could finish in NYC for a few days. Maybe we should go back to Plan A!

The Canadian authorities are barring entry to Canada, including at its border with the US, to most foreign nationals, including British nationals.

They're planning to open up to vaccinated travellers on 7th September which is the week we'd like to arrive anyway.
