Holiday house in Lowestoft

We are looking at purchasing a detached bungalow and converting it holiday house. I know it is great in the summer and quite popular. But not sure how it is during other seasons?
For those that live/own property in that area, Is it generally popular destination in spring/fall/winter? Will I struggle getting rentals?

Thanks!

Yarmouth is dead in winter I suspect Lowestoft similar. Maintenance season?

Probably. Lowestoft is the dull sister to Great Yarmouth. There are some nice areas but the areas immediately south of the river waveney in the town centre (which is right next to south beach) have become notorious for drug problems, largely due I believe, to large Victorian B&Bs being turned into bedsits and high local unemployment. The local council don't seem to be that bothered about keeping the area nice or attracting tourists either. The high street is a ghost of its former self with lots of empty units. As with other towns nail bars, hairdressers and sports bars are the only thriving sectors.

Look at oulton broad or anything around the broads. They are more popular than the seafront.

Personally I'd buy a cheap two up two down, slap a coat of paint round it and get tenants in. Less hassle than trying to keep a holiday let clean every week.

One and two bedroom holiday rental properties are always more rentable off season than big houses as couples and friends without children will chose to travel then and don’t want to pay a premium for unused bedrooms.

You increase your rentals if you accept dogs too.

A four bedroom pet free property may well struggle off season
