Hi slink, I'm just about to post a travel question - and saw yours from the other day... so don't know if this is a bit late but travelling by car to DLparis is an easy drive even around Paris (you don't go anywhere near the centre - or shouldn't!) we've done it three times and we live in Leeds, once at Easter, twice in the summer, both busy times. Takes about 3 hours from Calais. Look at the DLparis website to check accommodation availability (they have on and off-site hotels) and latest offers. HTH

Here's a vote for Eurotunnel, especially with Kids. It's quick, you can get out of the car, you don't have to do the ridiculously close parking like on the ferry, everything you could possibly need for the children is with you in the car....I could go on. Shopping at the English terminal is better than the French for those last minute tax free essentials!!
We went at half term and stayed at Davey Crockett - good fun but a bit shabby tbh.
Don't forget the tolls on the A1 down to Paris, it cost about £10/15 but well worth it. French Roads are so much better than ours imo. Make sure you know where the Val d'Europe is too. As well as Sealife they have a huge shopping mall and a designer retail outlet with Big names there! Remember the autograph book for DD and you'll have a great time. All the best.

Poppyseed - just how shabby are we talking at Davy Crockett? From the photos it looks like the cabins are actually caravans with an "interesting" log cabin effect attached. Not that that would necessarily put us off. Were the communal areas (pool etc) shabby too? Sorry to hijack Slink!
